Supply Chain Risk Assurance & Project Control

Statoil is one of the world's largest net sellers of crude oil, and a substantial supplier of natural gas to Europe. Kvitebjørn is the largest HP/HP development to date in the Norwegian sector.

kvitNuenco consultants worked on the Kvitebjørn project from the point of corporate sanction, through to the successful completion of the 'phase one' drilling programme involving the construction and completion of twelve production and injection wells.

Tasked with the design and maintenance of project control systems and the assurance of regulatory compliance, we also led a large scale supply chain audit and vendor coaching programme, designed to manage risk on the first large scale HP/HT development undertaken by Statoil in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

Nuenco consultants were responsible for partner reporting of physical progress on the Kvitebjørn drilling programme and the preparation of budgetary spend projections and Capex 'calls' to partner organisations.

The audit programme designed and executed by a Nuenco consultant as Lead Auditor consisted of five audit rounds;

  • Management Systems
  • Technical Integrity
  • People & Services
  • Pre-Delivery Technical Review
  • Pre-Operations Competence Review

The process qualified 12 suppliers as elite 'HP/HT Ready' vendors for Kvitebjørn and subsequent Statoil operations. Kvitebjørn set a new corporate benchmark for low Non Productive Time and equipment Failure Incidence which remains to date.
